Niagara This Week: New collaborations for NC’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute Innovation Centre

Niagara This Week reporter Steve Henschel wrote about a funding initiative that will support Niagara College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute Innovation Centre’s (CFWIIC) ability to collaborate with those in the Niagara food and beverage processing industry.

Over the next five years, the $30 million in federal support of the Canadian Food Innovators (CFI) Network via Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada will enable Niagara food and beverage processors to remain competitive in a global market while developing new products and the technologies to make them.

NC’s CFWIIC manager Lyndon Ashton is quoted, stating that the Centre plays a role, working with companies to commercialize new food and beverage products, leveraging new technologies to innovate and improve profitability.
