In this article published in The St. Catharines Standard, Dave Johnson writes about the $2 million funding announcement made by Filomena Tassi, federal minister of seniors, on behalf of the Kirsty Duncan, minister of science and sport, at NC’s Niagara-on-the-Lake campus on July 17.

The funding will support the College’s efforts to advance student learning and create jobs in the manufacturing, agricultural and natural resources management sectors. Tassi expresses the importance of colleges in helping businesses advance via expert knowledge from students and researchers.

In her announcement address, Tassi said, “It gives valuable industry experience to the industry leaders of tomorrow,” referring to college students.

Johnson includes comments from President Dan Patterson who cites the College’s student-focused, pre-preemptive nature and strong entrepreneurial culture.
