On June 13, Stockwatch News shared the news that local Cannabis grower, Aleafia Health, planted Canada’s first legal outdoor cannabis crop, and with the help of Niagara College students in the Commercial Cannabis Production (CCP) program as well as staff from NC’s Teaching Greenhouse.
The planting took place less than one week after Aleafia Health secured Health Canada’s approval for outdoor cultivation. To the Company’s knowledge, Aleafia Health is the first licensed producer to complete a large-scale, legal outdoor crop in Canadian history.
Aleafia Health says that Niagara College was “instrumental in allowing the Company to quickly scale operations during planting, the most labour-intensive period of outdoor growing.”
