As the Criveller Group celebrated 40 years of providing quality equipment to wineries, breweries and distilleries across the Niagara region, owner Bruno Criveller spoke with first semester Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management students on March 15 as part of an introductory course.
During a visit to the company’s Niagara Falls locations, the class of 18 students learned how Criveller builds fermenters, including watching an entire fermenting system being put together. The class also heard from Jessica Criveller, operations manager of Criveller Group, who spoke about the business as a whole.
The two hour visit to Criveller Group included a site tour.
“The visit fits in between two equipment classes, one dealing with welding, steel and the vessels manufactured for brewing and the following class deals with pumps, filters, electronic controls, valves and pumps,” said Jon Downing, NC Brewmaster professor. “Seeing in reality what is shown in a PowerPoint is an excellent learning event.”
Now part of the Introduction to Brewing class, this trip takes place three times per year with first semester students.
