Message from Michael Wales, Manager, Communications:

As we enter 2019, I wanted to provide an update from the Communications department, as we’ve had a few changes to our team and structure, and we’re moving to a new model in terms of how we support college-wide communications.

Team Changes:

Julie Greco took on the new role of Communications Consultant this fall. Julie joined the College in 2011 as a writer/editor and her most recent role was communications specialist.

Jessica Torok joined the College as Communications Specialist in late November.

Andrew Korchok, who joined the college in November 2017 as Communications/Media Advisor, has taken on the new role of Communications Consultant.

Consultant/Portfolio Model

To bring a more integrated and strategic approach to college communications, we’ve moved to a consultant/portfolio model, in which members of the communications team will provide a full range of communications support to a portfolio of internal clients.

The new model leverages the broad range of skills, experience and expertise within the communications team, and encourages a planned and proactive approach to internal and external communications. Our team will connect regularly with key contacts within their portfolios to identify upcoming opportunities and challenges that we will build into our overall communications planning and work. As well, the team member assigned to your area will be your main contact for anything from media relations to communications planning, internal communications, issues management or other communications work.

In the coming days, key contacts within each department/division/school will receive a note introducing the communications team member assigned to their area. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding college-wide communications.

Michael Wales
Manager, Communications
