A message from Vivian Kinnaird, dean, Business, Hospitality and Environment:
The Business, Hospitality and Environment division welcomes three people into new roles this winter term.
Julie Samson, academic business manager

Julie joins the BHE division as academic business manager after having worked in the School of Business for two years in part-time roles at both the support staff and administrative level.
Julie brings extensive post-secondary administrative experience to the role, having spent seven years in Qatar at the College of North Atlantic and Weill Cornell Medical College in various roles including manager of continuous professional development, HR project consultant, and business development specialist.
The division also welcomes two new faculty members this term:
Teri Canestraro, faculty, hospitality

Teri Canestraro joins faculty in hospitality at NC after having been a part-time employee in various capacities including partial load faculty, and marketing and events for the BHE division. In her role, Teri will bring her expertise and knowledge of current industry trends to the classroom.
Teri holds a Bachelor of Applied Business – Hospitality Management from Niagara College and an MBA in International Hospitality Management from the International Management Institute in Switzerland. She has many years experience working in Niagara’s hospitality industry and operating her own event planning company. In 2015, Teri received the Top 40 Under 40 Niagara award, and she’s leveraged her expertise to help organizations including CNIB and the Brain Injury Association of Niagara.
Nick Farnell, faculty, business analytics

Nick has joined the School of Business and Tourism as a full-time faculty member focusing on management and analytics. Nick has assumed the role after more than two years as the academic business manager at NC, and nearly ten years as a part-time faculty member at a variety of post-secondary institutions in Ontario.
Nick holds a Bachelor degree in technology and design, a post-graduate certificate in interactive multimedia, an MBA focusing on the management of technology and innovation, and most recently, a certificate in business analytics. A former student government president and a strong supporter of student-led initiatives, Nick brings a wealth of experience working with students to the role.
