A message from Academic & Liberal Studies:

Please join us as we celebrate the retirement of Amanda Shanks, Manager of Community Integration through Cooperative Education (CICE).

Amanda joined the college in 2010 as the Academic Business Manager for the Business, Hospitality & Environment division after working many successful years in the University and non-profit sectors. Amanda brought an extensive background in working with at-risk youth and learners with disabilities to the college, and was instrumental in bringing youth programming to the Grimsby community. In 2016, Amanda became the first Manager, of the CICE program in the Academic & Liberal Studies Division. She eagerly took on the challenge of getting this new programming for learners with disabilities up and running at the NOTL Campus.  After a successful program launch in January of 2017, Amanda put her heart and soul into growing the program into the success story it is today. Many of you have worked closely with Amanda and been instrumental in offering on campus academic and placement experiences to our learners in CICE.

For those of you that have had the pleasure of working with Amanda, you know what a dedicated and caring person she is. She goes above and beyond for students on a daily basis. We wish Amanda well as she takes on the next chapter in her life, including some extensive travel plans and spending more time with her grandchildren. As an avid volunteer we know she will keep busy with numerous committees to which she lends her time and expertise. She will be greatly missed!

Please join us on Thursday, December 6th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in room W308 at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus. Cake and refreshments will be served.
