Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board lands $8 million for job training

An article posted by Niagara This Week highlights a funding announcement from federal Labour Minister Patty Hajdu made in Welland on October 25.

The article explained how the funding announced by Hadju will pay for the SPF program to the tune of $5 million, training 150 Indigenous youth. An additional $3 million will be directed to NPAAMB’s Journey to Success Essential Skills (JSES) program, allowing 112 people to participate. The JSES program, in co-operation with Niagara College, provides Indigenous youth with in-classroom training and education on cultural competencies and employment skills, in addition to paid work placements in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
