CKTB: Niagara Health awards spotlight Niagara College alumni

CKTB highlighted recipients of Niagara Health’s 19th annual Awards of Excellence, held at NC’s Benchmark Restaurant, recognizing individuals and teams who have made exceptional contributions to patient care, innovation and leadership across the organization.

Several NC alumni were among those recognized. Those highlighted in the article are:

  • Rachael Cooke (Critical Care Nursing, Class of 2021) was part of the team receiving the Extraordinary Future Through Innovation Award for driving improvements in patient flow and care delivery through the Emergency Department Task Force.
  • Lauren Mullin (Practical Nursing, Class of 2024) received the Extraordinary Patient Experience Award for her work as a Registered Practical Nurse in Detox and Mental Health.
  • Marie Cordero (Dental Office Administration, Class of 2007; Pre-Health Sciences, Class of 2009) was honoured with the Compassion in Action Award for her dedication as a Personal Support Worker in the Intensive Care Unit at Welland Hospital.
  • Matthew Baronaitis (Paramedic, Class of 2008) earned the Extraordinary Leadership Award for his leadership as Manager of the Telemetry, Heart Investigation Unit and Coronary Care Unit at Marotta Family Hospital.
