CHCH Morning Live featured Niagara College’s new Defence Systems Engineering Technology program, showcasing students working on drones in the College’s drone lab.
Students in the three-year program will gain hands-on experience building and maintaining drones.
Program Coordinator, Alexander McGlashan, is interviewed in the segment highlighting the program’s wide variety of career opportunities.
“We’ve been approached a lot by police, EMS, and fire services for roles focused on maintenance, repair, and deployment of these systems,” McGlashan said. “On the manufacturing side, we’re working with many industrial companies that produce not just the drones themselves, but also the sensors, cameras, and communications platforms.”
The segment also noted that the public can tour the drone lab during the College’s Spring Open House on March 28.
