NC's Fitness and Health Promotion students are offering free personal training to staff, students and community members.

Eager to start your fitness journey or boost your current routine? Niagara College is looking for 40 participants to receive personalized, free training from our second-year Fitness and Health Promotion students! Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or looking to take your workouts to the next level, Niagara College’s second-year Fitness and Health Promotion students are here to help.

As part of their program, students provide personalized fitness guidance, including:

  • One-on-one counseling and education
  • Pre- and post-fitness assessments
  • Customized weekly exercise programs

All training is delivered under the close supervision of experienced instructors, ensuring a safe and effective experience. This hands-on program helps students gain the skills needed for national-level fitness certifications and careers in the health and fitness industry.

Participants benefit from individualized fitness plans, weekly sessions, and ongoing personal support throughout the program. There is no cost to participate.

Participation Eligibility
This program is open to Niagara College staff, students (excluding those in the Fitness and Health Promotion and Exercise Science for Health & Performance programs), and local community members. Eligible participants must be between 18 and 60 years old, capable of exercising independently, and have no more than one acute or chronic health concern. A valid email address is required for communication purposes.

When and Where
In 2026 sessions are available from Feb.12 to April 23, 2026, excluding Niagara College’s mid-term break. Training will take place on Thursdays at the Welland Campus, Room A200B in the Athletic Wing, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and participants must commit to the same session each week.

While the personal training sessions are free, participants are responsible for any parking fees at the Welland Campus. Further parking information is available on Niagara College’s Parking Services website.
