On August 26, Niagara College had the honour of welcoming Her Excellency Amal Y. Almoalimi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The visit recognized and celebrated NC’s longstanding partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ambassador Almoalimi began her visit with lunch at Benchmark Restaurant before touring the College’s Food and Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC). Guided by FBIC Associate Director Lyndon Ashton, Ambassador Almoalimi explored the Centre’s research and optimization labs, learning how the FBIC supports small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through a wide range of services including prototyping, food safety guidance, testing, and market-ready production through its Beverage Research & Development Pilot Processing Facility.
Following the tour, Ambassador Almoalimi met with President Sean Kennedy and members of the Executive team, including Vice President International Sean Coote, Vice President Academic Fiona Allan, and Vice President Research, Innovation & Strategic Enterprises Dr. Marc Nantel. Discussions highlighted NC’s commitment to global engagement, it’s more than 15 years of collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in technical vocational education and explored future opportunities with the Colleges of Excellence in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
