The three Niagara dailies, (St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and Welland Tribune) announced that Niagara College is charging ahead with a new electric vehicle safety training program for first responders to meet a growing need for EV emergency preparedness.

The program — backed by a $450,000 commitment from RBC Foundation — is intended to equip emergency professionals with specialized knowledge and skill to safely manage EV-related situations.

NC’s Dean of Media, Trades and Technology, Duane Bender, is quoted in the article from an NC release mentioning that the programs reflect the colleges commitment to safety, innovation and real-world skills development.

“As advanced automotive technology adoption grows, so does the need for specialized safety knowledge and Niagara College is delivering it through hands-on training that meets the needs of both industry and community,” he said.
