On July 10, Pelham Today, Thorold Today, and the NOTL Local shared NC’s announcement highlighting a student-led initiative to address food insecurity on campus. Students are cultivating a community vegetable garden at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake to help support peers experiencing food insecurity during the summer months.

The initiative is led by Robert Pastirik, a 2025 graduate of the Horticultural Technician program, with support from the College’s Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services (HWAS) and the Teaching Greenhouse.
