Welland Tribune: Business Analytics student creates online shopping platform

The three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune) profiled NC Business Analytics student Janine Krasovskis who launched LocLd.ca, a website connecting Canadian communities with local businesses. Through its multi-vendor platform, the website provides a one-stop shop for people to access nearby vendors, artisans, farmers and small retailers.

Krasovskis decided to go back to school 24 years after graduating from NC’s Early Childhood Education program.

“I’ve run small businesses before … and I always found it difficult to get it started up,” she said. “I’ve had amazing ideas but to get it started was hard, so I started researching how to support small businesses and vendors and makers and artisans and farmers in the area because it looked like the economic turn was going to go a little bit south (with the current tariffs situation).”
