CKTB announced that the Ontario government will invest $1.4 million to train more construction workers in Niagara.
The funding, provided through the Training Stream of the Skills Development Fund, will support training for in-demand careers in the homebuilding sector. This program will be administered by the Niagara Home Builders’ Association (NHBA) in partnership with NC.
MPP Niagara West Sam Oosterhoff, who visited Niagara College’s Welland Campus on November 22 to celebrate the success of a skilled trades partnership between NC and the NHBA, is quoted in the article: “As Niagara continues to grow, our region requires more skilled workers in the construction and homebuilding sectors.”
NC’s VP of Academic, Fiona Allan, is also quoted: “Niagara College is grateful to the province for, once again, investing in training that is helping to address the urgent need for skilled tradespeople.”
