Niagara College’s incorporation of fuel cell technology into its Motive Power program was mentioned in a September 25 article posted by the Niagara dailies.

The article, posted by The Standard, Welland Tribune and Niagara Falls Review, highlights the Niagara Region’s blueprint for zero-emission vehicles paving the way for more homegrown hydrogen-powered vehicles, locally and across Ontario and positioning Niagara as a leader in hydrogen adoption.

Felix Chinen, the Region’s electric mobility sector specialist, discussed Atura Power’s plans to produce green hydrogen in Niagara Falls next year, which would be the largest of its kind in the province, and mentioned the College.

“In this context, we have started to integrate key players across Niagara in the use of hydrogen as a green source of energy in the transportation sector,” Chenin said. “We have also started discussions with Niagara College, which is incorporating fuel cell technology in its academic program. The college can be a great partner for other organizations, such as Niagara Transit and Niagara Parks Commission, when introducing the fuel cell buses to their fleet.”
