It is with mixed emotions that I share that Rob Burwash, Senior Director, Human Resources, will leave Niagara College on May 9 to pursue a new opportunity in the manufacturing sector.

During his five years at Niagara College, Rob provided valuable strategic leadership and advice as we navigated the pandemic and the recent challenges related to changes in federal policy. He is well respected among his provincial peers and has served on the provincial colleges bargaining committee during the last round of faculty negotiations and he has provided leadership as co-chair of the provincial Vice Presidents of Human Resources committee. As a proud Niagara College alum, I know Rob will continue to make his mark as he moves on to a new role.

I am pleased to share that current Director of HR Services Jodi Fitzgerald has accepted the role of Senior Director, Human Resources. Jodi is a seasoned human resources professional with more than 25 years of experience, including leadership and advisory roles in the postsecondary, municipal and private sectors. Jodi’s appointment takes effect immediately, and she will work alongside Rob until his departure to ensure a smooth transition in HR leadership during a critical time for the College.

Please join me in thanking Rob for his contributions to NC, and in extending congratulations to Jodi as she takes on the leadership of our HR team.

Pam
