Niagara College is celebrating Black History Month with events and activities that honour the legacy, achievements, and contributions of Black Canadians and African diasporic peoples. As part of these celebrations, students and employees are invited to visit the Winter Pop-Up Market at the Welland Campus today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hosted in partnership with Black Owned 905, NCSAC, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Community Relations and Events, the market will feature student and community vendors showcasing locally made goods, including jewelry, candles, clothing, and pantry items.
NC first partnered with Black Owned 905 during Black History Month in 2024 and is excited to welcome them back this year to continue supporting Black-owned businesses.
Featured vendors:
- Earth and Moon
- Future Black Female
- RiVr Candles
- Soulicious
- Positive Living Niagara
- O.H Official
- Niagara College Black Student Association
- NC alumna Desiree Straker – Co-founder of Black Wealth Seeds and co-author of Bet on Yourself: A Student Guide to Entrepreneurship
Students and employees are encouraged to stop by, explore the market, and show their support for local Black-owned businesses. We hope to see you there!
