Niagara College’s on-campus smoking policy, which was suspended ahead of the Fall 2020 Term, will be back in effect on April 19.
The policy allows for smoking and vaping in designated areas only, to promote a healthy environment for all students, employees and visitors. As the policy is reinstated, please be respectful of others, including security personnel who will remind people who smoke on campus to do so in the Designated Smoking Areas (DSAs) located at both campuses.
Designated Smoking Areas at the Welland Campus include:
- Edge of A2 parking lot near the Athletic entrance
- South entrance to the Simcoe building
- South-East corner of the Technology building
- South-West side of the Campus Residence
Designated Smoking Areas at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus include:
- Edge of the East parking lot near the East Wing entrance
- South-East side of the Campus Residence
DSAs are clearly identified with signage and are also indicated on campus maps, available online at niagaracollege.ca/wellandparkingmap and niagaracollege.ca/notlparkingmap. All other areas on campus continue to be smoke free.
