The LCBO has donated $60,000 to Niagara College to establish the Spirit of Inclusion Initiative Bursary for students in NC’s beverage programs and Education News Canada shared NC’s release announcing the support.
The bursary is specifically earmarked for students who self-identify as a woman from a diverse background currently under-represented in the beverage alcohol industry, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC). The first bursaries, distributed to four students from each of the College’s beverage programs (Artisan Distilling, Winery and Viticulture Technician, Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management, Beverage Business Management), will be given out this fall.
