Giving back to the community is part of our NC DNA.

On August 28, staff and faculty will gather for Niagara Day, a chance to mark the start of a new academic year. The event will also kick-off NC’s 2019 United Way workplace campaign.

A team of volunteers will be on site at Niagara Day as attendees enter the gym and throughout lunch to collect donations for the College’s annual campaign, which has a local impact, creating opportunities for everyone in Niagara to live a better life.

“The United Way campaign is a testament to the College’s commitment to serving and supporting those in need in Niagara. It’s amazing what staff, faculty and students can accomplish together for the community and we’re proud to be continuing our fundraising efforts this year,” said Carolyn Triemstra, dean of Community and Health Studies. Triemstra is co-chairing the 2019 fundraising campaign with Michele O’Keefe, associate director, Athletics and Recreation.

In 2018, NC raised over $22,000 on Niagara Day alone, and a total of $40,000 at the end of last year’s campaign.

Prize draw for donations made on Niagara Day

Staff and faculty who donate more than $25 to NC’s 2019 United Way workplace campaign will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize. This year’s prizes include tickets to CFWI’s highly anticipated Caps, Corks and Forks event, a gift card to Benchmark Restaurant, and more.

Donations must be made on Niagara Day to be eligible for this special raffle. Winners will be announced on September 4.

Volunteers will be on site at Niagara Day to collect donations. There will be a number of ways to donate including online (via iPads), cash or credit cards. Information about the United Way will also be on display at the event.
