As we continue to enhance our facilities, learning environments and campus grounds, we will complete a series of construction projects at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus this spring and summer. This work will bring marked improvements to the parking lots and roadways on campus, including a major realignment of the roadway and reconstruction of parking lot B. The work also includes major renovations and improvements to the Library and Learning Commons at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus as well as maintenance work on the main building and Residence. Staff, faculty, students and visitors will notice significant construction activity, rotating parking lot closures and lane restrictions between May 20 and late August in order to complete this work. Every effort will be made to minimize the effect of this work on college operations and events and a minimum of 800 parking spots will be available at all times. Please pay attention to construction signage and instructions around campus.
On Monday, May 20, preliminary site work will begin for the realignment of the campus roadway.
*Note: the culvert replacement work was previously scheduled for May 27-28. It has been rescheduled to May 29-30.
On Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30, contractors will be replacing the culvert beneath the main entrance to the campus. Workers will be on-site from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This will reduce the main entrance to one lane, and traffic will be controlled by the construction company. Access in and out of the campus will be maintained throughout the replacement operation. Please exercise patience when dealing with traffic control persons, and allow extra time to arrive and park during busy traffic hours.
Regular updates will be provided throughout the construction period, and any questions or concerns should be directed to Ralph Scholz, Director of Facilities Management Services, at ext. 7762.
