A message from Sean Coote, director, International:
After a successful career of 36 years at Niagara College, Jon Ogryzlo is retiring on March 31, 2016.
Jon has been a tremendous asset since joining the College in 1980, always approaching each of his roles with the utmost dedication. Following his involvement in the College’s early planning, research and development initiatives, Jon subsequently moved on to create, manage and direct Niagara College’s Environment, Horticulture and Agribusiness Division. He later became the catalyst behind Niagara College’s Wine Visitor + Education Centre, the only facility of its kind in North America to combine tourism operations for visitors with teaching facilities for wine and tourism students. His pioneering role in the success of the Wine Visitor + Education Centre led to the launch of the Canadian Food and Wine Institute, another of his monumental contributions to Niagara College. As dean of International Partnerships, Jon was instrumental in the development of several international projects in Jamaica, Peru, Bolivia and Vietnam as well as a successful proposal to set up and operate a new Niagara College campus in Taif, Saudi Arabia. Having spearheaded some of the most successful development projects and transformation initiatives in the College’s history, Jon has been an exemplary leader and a true ambassador for Niagara College.
You are invited to join the Niagara College community in wishing Jon well in his retirement and thanking him for his invaluable contributions to the College at the upcoming reception to be hosted in his honour on Wednesday, March 30 from 3-5 pm at the Wine Visitor + Education Centre at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus.
