Public input is being sought for the South Western Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT), an initiative aimed at building an ultrahigh-speed fibre optic Internet network for southwestern Ontario and Niagara. The project is being led by a partnership of 16 regional and local municipalities in southern Ontario, including the Niagara CIO Council (NCC), a local group made up of representatives from education, health care, police and regional government. Niagara College is a member of the NCC.
A public information session will be held at the Welland Civic Square on February 5 from 9 am to noon. For more information or to register, visit www.niagararegion.ca/government/initiatives/swift/default.aspx.
