Newly-elected Niagara Centre MP Vance Badawey, centre, toured the Rankin Technnology Centre at the Welland Campus October 27 with NC president Dan Patterson, far right. Badawey met with staff and students from the Research and Innovation division — including Justin Welsh, left, a Mechanical Engineering Techhnologist student and research assistant, to discuss the role the college plays in manufacturing and innovation through community partnerships. Badawey won the federal election October 19 for Niagara Centre and will be off to Ottawa to be sworn into office in Liberal Prime Minister-Elect Justin Trudeau’s caucus in early November.
On October 28, newly-elected St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle visited the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus for a roundtable meeting that focussed on Niagara College’s programs, community partnerships and research and innovation.
