Message from Dan Patterson: NC welcomes new VP, Corporate Services

Pam SkinnerIt is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Pamela (Pam) Skinner to the position of vice-president, Corporate Services effective April, 1, 2015.

Pam comes to us from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities where she currently holds the position of chief administrative officer (CAO) and assistant deputy minister, Corporate Management and Services Division.

As a seasoned senior executive with the Ontario Public Service (OPS), she brings more than 30 years of public sector experience, including eight years as CAO and assistant deputy minister responsible for Corporate Services. Her CAO role encompasses human resources, corporate finance, facilities management, information technology, freedom of information and protection of privacy, continuity of operations and accessibility as well as leadership for emerging and ongoing corporate priorities for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Pam brings tremendous leadership and expertise to our team.  Her knowledge and work at the Ministry of Education at the elementary and secondary levels of education, together with her work at the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, provides us with an in-depth understanding of the education landscape that will be invaluable.

Her senior level skills for leading complex portfolios in human resources, information technology, facilities and financial services makes her an ideal fit in her new role at the college as vice president of Corporate Services.

Pam’s post-secondary credentials include two undergraduate degrees and a Master’s certificate in Public Management from the Schulich School of Business at York University. She has also graduated from certificate offerings at Queen’s School of Business.

Pam notes that, “as a leader, team player, and implementer, I am thrilled at the opportunity to embark on an exciting next step in my public service career; one that is a match with my experience as a senior leader of corporate services, and my passion for the power of learning in all its forms.”

In her role as vice-president, Corporate Services, she will have executive responsibility for the operations of Facilities Management Services, Financial Services, Human Resources and Information Technology Services, as Teresa Quinlin moves to the newly-formed portfolio of Business Development.

Please join me in welcoming Pam to the Niagara College community. She will be located at our Welland campus in S217.
