Dina Fox is the new Manager, Academic Support and Advisement Services, a portfolio that includes: Career and Academic Advising Services, Academic Drop-in Sessions, Testing Services, and Peer Tutoring.
Dina brings with her 10 years of experience as Supervisor of Academic Advising and Exploration Services at Brock University. She completed a Master’s Degree in Education in Integrated Studies, focusing her studies and research on Advising Theory, Advising and Technology, Adult/Mature Learners, and International Education. Dina maintains a strong commitment to professional development and lifelong learning, as well as affiliations with professional and volunteer organizations including the National Academic Advising Association, and Niagara College’s Program Advisory Committee for Academic and Liberal Studies.
“Dina is an obvious and natural choice to help advance Niagara College’s vision for student success. She is already intricately immersed in the student advising milieu, bringing valued leadership to our newly developed model for student success and retention,” said Brigitte Chiki, acting director, Student Services. “Dina embraces collaborative partnerships as an effective way of working with students, faculty and staff across all academic and service departments.”
Dina’s first day of work is Wednesday, July 9, 2014. She will be working out of the Student Success Centres at both campuses.
