Many fundraisers support Many Hands

Fundraising is in full swing to support Niagara College’s Many Hands project.

As students from Niagara College’s Construction Studies program work to renovate Vineland’s Upper Deck Youth Deck before the final reveal next month, NC’s Event Management students have a variety of fundraisers planned to support the project.

Many Soups for Many Hands (sold out)

Saturday, March 15, 11:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m.

Welland Community Wellness Complex

This festival will highlight the best local soups in the Niagara region. Guests will have an opportunity to sample a variety of delicious soups prepared by local restaurants, browse through a marketplace and enjoy family activities

Many Bands for Many Hands

Thursday March 20, 2014, 7 p.m.-12 a.m.

L3 Night Club, St. Catharines.

This benefit concert features high-octane performances by garage rock sensation Bootleg Glory, indie rock phenomenon Thought Beneath Film, and indie folk pop-inspired Trouble and Daughter.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

Teams of eight not only compete in five rounds of trivia for the title of Trivia Champions, but also investigate the night’s unsolved mystery.

Runway Art Hair (sold out)

Saturday March 29, 2014, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m

Hilton Hotel and Suites Niagara Falls/Fallsview  

This fashion event combines elements of artistic talent, unique fashion design, edgy hair and aesthetics, and a choreographed performance by the RAH girls. Guests will experience a unique runway show, a dazzling silent auction, an interactive make-over take-over and a choreographed finale.

Solving Niagara

Saturday April 5, 2014, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls / Boston Pizza

An exciting urban race event on Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls.  Each team must complete different challenges to receive a clue and move on to the next challenge. The event will conclude with a celebration at Boston Pizza. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place as well as teams who raised the most money. Participants can register online in teams of two. Registration fee is $35 per person and includes: the race, after party at Boston Pizza, SWAG bag, and a chance to win prizes.

Reveal Day Street Festival

Saturday April 12, 2014, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Upper Deck Youth Centre, 3446 Rittenhouse Rd, Vineland  

Reveal day festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, tours of the newly renovated facilities and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Activities include an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, dance lessons and so much more. There will also be a used clothing sale with all proceeds going towards the Upper Deck Youth Centre. New and gently used clothing donations are still being accepted.
