Dean Ben Cecil takes on associate VP position at Fanshawe

A message from Steve Hudson, VP Academic:

It is with regret that I announce that dean Ben Cecil has tendered his resignation from Niagara College effective March 1, 2013, but I extend my congratulations to him on his appointment as associate vice-president Academic at Fanshawe College.

I understand from Ben that his new position includes responsibility for strategic enrolment planning, new program development, quality assurance and research amongst other considerations. Since joining Niagara College in August 2008 Ben has been an active driver in these areas and others and I am sure that his demonstrated leadership and experiences here at Niagara College will serve as a great base for his new appointment.

I want to thank Ben for his work and leadership in what has been one of the most eventful and growth filled phases of Niagara College’s existence. Working through academic restructuring, new facilities construction and numerous hiring processes he has demonstrated a student focus and an ability to complete detailed analysis and drive process that has been of great benefit to our students and our College.

Ben has agreed to stay on until March 1 so that we can complete the budget process and have time to initiate the replacement process, which I also greatly appreciate. A more formal chance to thank Ben will be scheduled before his departure.

Please join me in extending congratulations to Ben on his appointment.
