A holiday message from Dan Patterson

Dan PattersonAs the annual holiday break approaches, I want to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of our Niagara College team.  It has truly been an exciting year filled with achievement and growth and I’m grateful to each and every one of you for your hard work and ongoing focus on the success of our students.

Over the past 12 months, our enrolment reached new heights, we were again recognized as Ontario’s number one college for student satisfaction and a record number of graduates crossed the stage at our spring and fall convocation ceremonies.  We also hosted Sophie, the Countess of Wessex (our second Royal visit in three years) and celebrated David Pratt, a graduate of our greenhouse technician program, winning a prestigious Premier’s Award.  It is the second year in a row a member of our alumni has been honoured by the Premier of Ontario!

2012 has been a year of incredible individual achievements and recognition as well – what an amazing group of faculty, staff, and students!  A consistent comment I hear from visitors to our campuses, whether they be parents, guests, clients, or even members of the Royal Family, is the incredibly strong sense of place and community they feel when people are here.  This is a true testament to you, the exceptional NC team and your commitment to providing an unparalleled learning experience for our students.

Over the next couple of weeks, I hope you are able to enjoy time off with family and friends, reflect on 2012 and get ready for 2013.  Thank you again for your exceptional efforts over the past year and I look forward to seeing everyone at Thursday’s reception.
