NC welcomes new Athletics & Recreation manager

I am very pleased to announce that Matthew Davies has accepted the position of manager, Athletics & Recreation and will join the Niagara College team on August 13.

Matthew brings to the position a broad range of professional experience gained through his work in a number of athletic organizations and post-secondary institutions across Canada, along with an impressive academic record.

Matthew has held various positions in coaching and sport administration at several institutions, including Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Prince Edward Island, McGill University, and St. Francis Xavier University. He has also served as a consultant to the Quebec Basketball Federation and Coaches of Canada, and was the technical director at Basketball Prince Edward Island.

He holds a Master of Arts in Sport & Exercise Psychology from McGill University, a diploma in High Performance Coaching from the National Coaching Institute, and a graduate diploma in Sport Administration from Concordia University. He is in the final stages of completing a Master of Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University.

This new position reflects the significant growth and achievement of the department to date, and the manager will play a key role in continuing to advance Niagara College Athletics and Recreation. I am confident that Matthew’s passionate, goal-oriented approach, experience, and educational background will be of great benefit in collaborating with academic and service areas across the College, growing our external partnerships, and in working closely with coaches and staff to support the continued growth and success of our Athletics and Recreation teams, programs and services.
