NC welcomes new chair in School of Media Studies

A message from Dr. Ben Cecil, dean, Environment, Media and Technology Division:

It is with great pleasure I announce that Greg Unrau has accepted the position of our chair for the School of Media Studies. Greg’s term will commence August 7, 2012. Greg brings to the position an extensive, and award winning, background in the Media/Broadcasting sector with over 14 years of industry-based experience.

Greg is currently the head of production and training for the Abu Dhabi Film Commission in the UAE. Greg has been the past chair of Communications Media at Mohawk College (where he worked with dean Kim Walker of our CE Division). He has extensive international education experience having worked in the Middle East and Asia (as well as in Canada). He has held positions of increasing responsibility, including the supervision of media programs with over 800 students, 17 full-time and 30 part-time faculty, and has managed budgets similar to ours in the School of Media.

Greg grew up in Lincoln County and was a former Niagara College student in the BRTF area. He holds a Masters in Education from the University of Sheffield and is completing a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

Please help me welcome Greg to his new role, and provide him all the support required as he engages with his new responsibilities.
