Spotlight shines on NC Hybrid Course Development

An article about Niagara College’s Hybrid Course Development has been published on the Contact North website.

Called Learning By Doing, by Sara Best, the article is part of Contact North’s new Pockets of Innovation Series, launched to highlight the groundbreaking work happening in institutions across Ontario which showcase the province as a leader in online learning.

To be featured in the series, the course had to meet specific criteria. It has to be distinctly innovative, help students, and must be able to be shared or emulated by other post-secondary institutions, benefitting the entire post-secondary education sector.

According to Maxim Jean-Louis, president and CEO of Contact North, Niagara College’s course “was a perfect fit.”

Barbara Smith, NC’s faculty consultant for the Centre for Professional and Educational Development, was interviewed last fall when the program was being offered as a Part-Time Studies course.

In addition to the Contact North website, the article will also be featured in the Online Learning News, which is distributed to thousands of contacts across the post-secondary education sector on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Contact North is Ontario’s Distance and Education Training Network.
