In this course, you will learn the application of the flexure formula and the transverse shear formula to beams and machine components subjected to bending loads; shear flow in built-up sections; stress analysis of members subjected to combined axial, bending and shear loads. You will analyze the state of stress at a point using Mohr's circle. In this course, you will also consider the analysis and design of long and intermediate columns and analyze the deflection of beams.
