This course provides a detailed examination of, and 'hands-on' exercises, on common spatial analytical tools available in ArcGIS and its variety of extensions. Fundamental statistics concepts, including descriptive and inferential statistics, sampling, interpolation, and extrapolation theories, will be reviewed. Spatial analysis such as measurements and layer operations will be explored using ArcGIS-ArcInfo. Emphasis will be given to the point/line/polygon pattern analysis, network and surface analysis. Geospatial modeling will be introduced. Spatial analyses and spatial statistics are undertaken using ArcGIS with its extensions, including Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, Network Analyst, and ModelBuilder.
