Course Title: Electrical Concepts II
Code:
ELEC1228PAdmit Term:
2022 Spring 1222Credits:
5Description:
This course builds on the foundations set in Electrical Concepts I, in order to give the student an in-depth understanding of the function of AC Circuits, with application to the Renewable Energies Technician field. The Electrical Grid operates primarily on Alternating Current Electricity, with which Renewable Energies Technicians interact regularly. Focus will begin with revisiting Magnetism, Power and Series/Parallel Circuit relationships. The student will then learn to interpret the effect Inductance and Capacitance (Reactive elements) have on Alternating-Current circuits. Circuit Impedance will become an important working tool, and finally exposure to three-phase AC circuitry.
