This course offers the student the opportunity to practice many common service operations in the automotive shop. Students will build and demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of proper vehicle service and repair procedures. They will become familiar with various vehicles and safe service area routines. Students will use and become familiar with various tools and equipment commonly used in the modern service and repair facility under the supervision of college staff. Students will also learn and demonstrate familiarity with major system components of various vehicle and the function of these components. Professional service procedures and practices related to safety, care and cleanliness, proper paper work and appearance are among many attributes highly regarded in professional shops. Students will be encouraged to practice and demonstrate these attributes throughout this course.
