David Pastirik has been teaching at Niagara College since 1995, and has been a Professor of International Business and a Program Coordinator since 2004. He teaches courses at the diploma, degree, and graduate certificate level in International Trade Fundamentals, Global Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Export Business Planning and Strategy, Export Finance, and International Culture and Protocol. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and Niagara University in Lewiston, New York.
His practical knowledge is based on 27 years in the specialty steel industry in operations, technical, and commercial positions working for firms with British, Canadian, American, and Korean ownership. In addition to actively importing and exporting around the globe, David has spent time in Ottawa, Washington, and Brussels on international trade issues. He has also orchestrated numerous trade cases in stainless and tool steels.
David is a Professional Engineer and a Certified International Trade Professional. In addition to coaching the International Marketing team for the Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition, David is the Niagara College Academic staff representative on the Board of Governors. He was honoured to receive the Niagara College Faculty Award of Excellence for his work and dedication to the Niagara College community.
