Niagara College’s School of Trades is shining the spotlight on student success.
The College’s School of Trades will host its first annual Awards Night on March 22.
Showcasing the future of the trades industry, the event aims to recognize student accomplishments and contributions. Designed as a social evening, this event will highlight student success and awards given from donors and Niagara College staff members. Approximately 30 awards will be presented, valued at more than $20,000.
Students and faculty from the College’s School of Trades have been invited to attend, as well as several industry partners, including Bob Benner, owner of Hamill Machine Company, who will speak at the event.
“Our first annual School of Trades Awards Night is another way for us bring students and the industry together,” said Tim McLeod, associate dean of the College’s School of Trades. “There are great opportunities within the trades and a need for people with skills. And at Niagara College, our students develop skills that they can take with them wherever they go.”
The invite-only event will be held the College’s Welland Campus (The Core) from 6 to 8 p.m.
Niagara College’s School of Trades offers a variety of trades programs and apprenticeships in: automotive and motive power, cabinetmaking, construction and renovation, electrical, electronics, general machining, hairstyling, industrial automation, mechanical, metal fabricating (fitting) and welding.
