Niagara College’s Part-Time Studies Department will launch a new 16-week classroom and work experience program for 15- to 29-year-olds interested in a retail career.
The Youth Skills Connection program will provide students with eight weeks of in-class instruction focusing on retailing practices and the Canadian retail industry followed by an eight-week work placement giving students an opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world environment.
“We recognize that experience is a vital part of learning so we are working with local retailers who support the program to provide just that” says Fiona Allan Niagara College’s director of Workforce and Business Development.
Funded by the Government of Ontario the program is scheduled to begin on August 25. To learn more about Youth Skills Connection program contact Niagara College at 905-735-2211 ext. 7511 or visit the college website at www.niagaracollege.ca/YSC .
