Important Update: Niagara College classes continue as scheduled as OPSEU initiates province-wide support staff strike

September 11, 2025

All Niagara College classes will continue as scheduled, as the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) has initiated a province-wide strike of full-time support staff. Picketing is expected at all campus entrances, and students and non-striking employees should allow extra time and expect delays entering campus. Updates on the status of all college services will be provided throughout the day. Check back for regular updates and information, and see the FAQ below.

Bargaining continues between Ontario’s 24 publicly funded colleges — including Niagara College — and the Ontario Public Sector Employees Union (OPSEU), which represents full-time support staff.
