Learn at your own pace by using the ELLIS computer-based training program available at the Tourism Industry Development Centre.
What is ELLIS?
- ELLIS stands for English Language Learning and Instruction System.
- ELLIS is a user-friendly program that requires basic computer knowledge.
- The ELLIS program helps language learners of all levels and backgrounds improve their English skills and their awareness of Western culture.
How does the ELLIS program work?
- ELLIS offers three proficiency levels: Intro, Middle, and Senior Mastery.
- Language learners enter the ELLIS system by first doing a placement test and customizing their own learning plan.
- Each proficiency level is made up of several themes that build awareness of the Western culture.
- The ELLIS program users grahics, video and sound to develop students' listening, speaking, grammar and pronunciation skills.
- the ELLIS program also includes a Hospitality Specific English component.
