Gary is a professor within the Construction Engineering Technology program at Niagara College teaching courses such as Sustainable Construction, Surveying, Ontario Building Code, Mechanical Installations, Project Management and more. He earned his diploma in Construction Engineering from Mohawk College and his Applied Science Technologist Certification (A.S.C.T) from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). Gary has held titles such as assistant chief building official for Niagara-on-the Lake, overseeing construction for a diverse portfolio of multi-million dollar projects; a facilitator for the building code and related specifications for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and level 51 compliance inspector for the Canada Housing and Mortgage Corporation.
Gary is active in the community as a member of Niagara College’s Sustainability Committee, member of the board of directors for the Heidehof Home for Aged and former building committee board member for Habitat for Humanity – Niagara. He is also a key faculty/construction supervisor for Niagara College’s Many Hands project, a student run initiative that renovates properties for not-for-profit groups within the Niagara Region.
