Student Life and Services - Putting Students First
At Niagara College, we believe in meeting student needs. Our many services to students include a wide variety of support programs, facilities and student-centered events. Professional staff is available every step of the way to assist you in making your college experience a successful and worry-free one.

Athletics & Recreation
Niagara College is a proud member of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and under its auspices, offers a wide variety of men’s, women’s and co-ed varsity sports programs. Intercollegiate sports offered include men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, curling, golf, men’s rugby, men’s and women’s indoor soccer, and touch football..

Intramural sports programs include badminton, touch football, co-ed volleyball, basketball, ball hockey, ice hockey, and indoor soccer. On an individual basis, students are invited to participate in aerobic classes, floor hockey, and ping-pong. At the Welland and NOTL Campuses, students may use the fitness room facilities (which include a variety of equipment and free weights) and change rooms.

Campus Stores
The Campus Stores, located at the Welland Campus and at the NOTL Campus, are open year-round to students and the general public. The store hours are extended at the beginning of each term to serve Continuing Education, Distance Learning and full-time students. The texts for Distance or On-line Learning are located only at the Welland Store. Otherwise, required texts are found at the campus where the program is being offered.

The stores sell the supplies needed for your program, computer accessories, trade books, school clothing and giftware.

Payment may be made by cash, Visa MasterCard, American Express or debit card. The Campus Stores will accept credit card phone orders. We will ship your books directly to you (a handling fee applies).

Centre for Students with Disabilities
Niagara College endorses fair and equal access for students with disabilities. Students with documented disabilities are invited to use the professional services of the Centre for Students with Disabilities to ensure that equal opportunities to demonstrate academic competence are in place.

If you are a student with a disability, early self-identification is the first step you need to take on your journey to success. The types of assistance and accommodations available to students with disabilities include notetakers, peer tutors, test accommodations, and support counselling. For students with learning disabilities, a learning strategist and assistive technologist are in place to provide specialized support.

Child Care Centre
The Child Care Centre at the Welland Campus accepts children from three months to five years of age on a full-day basis. A half–day with lunch program is provided for children who attend kindergarten.

The Centre operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. As an approved corporation, the Centre holds an agreement with the Regional Municipality of Niagara, which allows qualifying families to obtain subsidized day care.
