Lesley has been CSEL’s manager since its launch in September 2012.
Her passion and expertise lie in leadership, organizational development, strategic planning and coaching/mentoring. Lesley oversees all of the centre’s program areas and supports key student life activities and success initiatives.
Her career at Niagara College began when she joined the International Division as an International Project Specialist in 2001 and developed extensive academic and career experience in navigating diversity in the workplace and integrating intercultural competencies into organizational culture.
Lesley holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, and is passionate of discovering and nurturing the potential of tomorrow’s leaders.
Student Experience Coordinator
Ali organizes and plans Niagara College’s Orientation, Student Appreciation Day, and many more campus-wide events for students.
She graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, concentrating in Accounting and Human Resources, followed by an Event Management Post-Graduate Certificate from Niagara College. During her previous work experience, she has planned and executed numerous successful events, including the Youth Art Exhibit, a federally funded project organized by Niagara College.
Community Engagement Coordinator
Dana acts as a liaison between Niagara College and community partners in the Niagara Region to connect students with volunteer opportunities that support their academic, professional and personal goals. Through these volunteer opportunities, students are able to apply the knowledge and skills they are developing, grow their professional network, and build their CCR, while helping others to address local community challenges.
Dana graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Studies from Nipissing University. She went on to graduate from Niagara College’s Event Management Post Graduate program in 2012. Since then, she has worked in the non-profit industry as an event coordinator and fundraiser, and is excited to now share her knowledge and connections with Niagara College students. Dana is passionate about volunteering, making a difference, and helping students take advantage of their time at Niagara College so they can get their dream job!
Student Development Program Coordinator
Sarah works towards creating leadership opportunities to help students grow personally and professionally throughout their time at Niagara College. She coordinates student development and engagement programming including the LEAD program and SEALS. These programs contribute to, validate and optimize students gaining leadership experiences, career readiness skills, competencies, and student satisfaction through their Niagara College Co-Curricular campus experience. The Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) program is a co-curricular program designed to offer students from any academic area the opportunity to explore and further develop leadership skills. The Student Engagement and Leadership Squad (SEALS) is a group of students with passion and enthusiasm to assist other students throughout their time at Niagara College.
Sarah holds a degree from Brock University in Speech and Language Sciences, as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate from Niagara College in Event Management. With much experience in planning and executing events ranging from career launches and conferences to community fundraisers, Sarah loves to create both social and academic-based events to aid in students’ success and leadership growth!
Student Transition Program Coordinator
Laura focuses on helping students transition into the Niagara College community, whether they’re attending straight from high school or after years within their professional career. She coordinates the KickSTART program, First Year Experience (FYE) Curriculum and also supports our First Generation students through on campus events and workshops.
Laura has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from McMaster University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Event Management from Niagara College. With years of experience in the event coordinating field, Laura’s passion lies in creating meaningful experiences for students to find the supports they need to be successful.
Co-Curricular Recognition Program Coordinator
Kat supports the technical operations of the CCR database, as well as schedule and facilitate staff and student training on the system; she is the go to for anything related to the operations and functionality of the system. Kat has a background in using Dramatic Arts as a teaching tool, with a BA(Hons.) in Drama in Education and Society from Brock, as well as Master of Education focusing on multicultural, anti-oppressive classrooms and curricula also from Brock. Having spent many years supporting students in and out of classrooms with their academics and community engagement, Kat is most excited to help students in articulating the skills they have developed through meaningful leadership and engagement opportunities in the Niagara community, and set them on the path to career success with their Niagara College Co-Curricular Record!
Lesley effectively manages CSEL’s reception area and is always ready to help anyone that walks in. She responds to CSEL inquiries, helps students sign up to the Get Involved – Co-Curricular Record portal, and performs a variety of administrative tasks.
During her previous work experience, she encompassed multiple high energy roles providing leadership and motivation to others. Lesley constantly encourages students to set goals and develop strategic opportunities by getting involved.
