Niagara Research Training Information
Niagara College is committed to the professional development of its faculty and staff through research activities. Applied research projects are developed based on industry problems or goals. Research teams include faculty, students, and industry partners. Cross-divisional teams are established whenever feasible. Faculty and staff are provided with annual professional development sessions on research priorities, policies, ethics, intellectual property, and other relevant topic. Beginning in May, 2008, all students hired by Niagara Research to work on research projects receive a full week of training on research practices, procedures and ethical conduct; health and safety; presentation skills; and the development of workplans and reporting structures with faculty team leads.
In addition, many educational programs at Niagara College have incorporated courses on research and course research projects.
