Standing Committee: Research Council
There shall be a Standing Committee of the College known as the Research Council comprised of the following members and having the following duties and responsibilities :
Terms of Reference
Authority
The Research Council reviews, approves research plans and coordinates research initiatives at the College. It monitors the application of ethical and research standards for the College.
Advisory
The Council makes recommendations to the Executive Team on ethical and research standards for the College.
Membership:
- Vice-President, Corporate Services
- Director, Research and Innovation
- Director, CFAV and Applied Research
- Associate Director, VISTA
- Academic Administrators (3)
Reports to:
Executive Team
Meetings:
As determined by the Chair
Other Committees:
The Research Council may create ad hoc committees as required to fulfill its mandate
Budget/Expenses:
Expenses related to meetings of the Research Council are deferred by the Research and Innovation division. Travel expenses for members to attend meetings are deferred by the members’ departmental budgets. The Vice-President, Corporate Services will approve all other expenses and will determine how they are to be deferred.
