Last year, Discovery set the stage for innovative thinking - a packed stage that housed a sold-out event with over 2,200 delegates and close to 300 exhibitors. This year's event promises to be even more successful. New this year, Discovery welcomes the 2010 Premier's Innovation Awards, with Premier Dalton McGuinty recognizing world-class innovators who are changing the face of medicine, health technology, cleantech, communications technology and digital media.

Niagara College Canada: Niagara Research

Students at Niagara College are invited to participate in applied research projects that help local businesses and community organizations become more innovative, solve problems, and develop new products or processes. Students have the opportunity to work in research teams with faculty, other students and local business owners. Working on real-world, applied research projects provides students with the opportunity to bring the skills and knowledge they have learned in the classroom to a new level. This experience broadens employment opportunities for student research assistants and better prepares them for their future careers.

OCE Career Corner:

A service innovation provided by Niagara Research

Niagara College will host a Career Corner booth within the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) Discovery 2010 Conference from May 17-18, 2010. The goal of the OCE Career Corner is to showcase current employment opportunities within OCE's key industry sectors, connect employers with prospective employees, and to provide assistance for students and graduates with resume development and job search strategies.

Niagara College invites all interested employers to post employment opportunities on-line at http://ocecareercorner.niagararesearch.ca. Prior to the OCE Discovery 2010 Conference, students and graduates will have access the site to view and apply to select postings. Niagara College will facilitate meetings between employers and applicants during the conference, where employers can take advantage of private interview space located in the Career Corner.
