ACCC 2011 Applied Research Symposium
Event Overview
Niagara College’s Research and Innovation Division (Niagara Research) will have a presence this winter at the ACCC 2011 Applied Research Symposium taking place March 22-23. Acting Director Natalee Tokar, Acting Research Project Manager and Research Co-ordinator Paula Simion will attend this year’s symposium, which brings together colleges and researchers from across Canada to share challenges and best practices for advancing applied research activities. Presenting this year, Paula will share her full-circle learning experience through Niagara Research from a former Niagara College student to a full-time graduate intern with the Division.
Scheduled Sessions
A number of engaging and interactive sessions are scheduled during the Applied Research Symposium, including (but not limited to): Going Global with Applied Research 2011, Innovative models for faculty and student engagement; processes for industry liaison and engagement; finance and human resources; project dissemination and promotion; An intellectual property case study for colleges; Building bridges between international and applied research: funders, partners and institutions; Best practices in financial monitoring and reporting of research funds.
